Thoughts

It's pretty fair to say I've suspended my exercise programme for a few weeks.  The plus side of this, is I'm a week ahead on the Christmas excess thing.  I'll pull it back on line with effect next Tuesday.  I'll have to because as of this Thursday, that makes it 12 weeks until the Grape Ride.

So, here's a few (random) Christmas thoughts:

I hope whatever you do this Christmas:  your heart is full of joy,  your stomach full of good food and wine,  your cheeks sore from laughing so hard.  Wear your seatbelt, don't drink and drive, do thirty star jumps every day (who needs Core when there are old skool star jumps?), don't wear white pants (unless you really do have hot legs), cycle like the world is going to end in 45 minutes (oh, that's just RPM on a good day;-), do watch The Lion King, The Sound of Music, and Rocky, don't run with scissors, do give a stranger a high five – especially if they are from the Hutt, do undertake at least one random anonymous act of kindness, swim in random locations, don't forget to smile at the cashier people when you're doing your Christmas shopping, do put on high energy music and try and dance furiously, just dance whenever possible,  wear a heart monitor and see how high your heart beat can go in your hallway,  listen to music that calms the soul, don't forget to  put sunscreen on, breathe when your swimming or diving – or try not breathing, sing a little or a lot, cycle like you have all day to get round Lake Taupo, get to feel both soil and sand, practice safe sex, get lost in a forest, fly,  do at least one thing that frightens you, drink lots of water – it always makes the hangover less stressful, talk to your neighbours,  savour the sun, and  don’t kill any screaming kids (or their caregivers/parents at thesupermarket – ok, this last one, may just be applicable to me ;-) .

I'll aim to tick off a few of the above over the Christmas break - I hope you do too,

Also, I will be getting a few decent road rides in - once I rediscover where I left my bike? ;-)

I'm having a blog holiday for a few days. I’ll be back, once I’ve been away –  likely to be before next year. Probably next week.  So, I'll save my "formal end of year review" and thoughts on the year that was and the universe until then.

Just booked tickets for RK in Feb - nothing like a bit of middle of the road Irish music.  Not a Christmas tune, but I like this tune - reminds me when I had a passport;-) - which is a random connection:
