Martinborough x 50%

I only went one way today re the Sunday ride to Martinborough.  The owners of the strawhouse wanted to trade some sheep shit (ironical given the manure came from a Martinborough farm in the first place) so gave me a lift home.  This worked for today, as I wanted to get some gardening in, mow the lawn etc.  I think the up side too is that I'll be able to go to the rpm tomorrow realtively "fresh".  Mr AK, I'll be back - in the front row!

So, only a 50% ride today = 30km.  I rode into a headwind most of the way.  It took me hour and a quarter or so.  So total distance for the weekend would be 50km which is lower than I normally aim for.  I think though if I can increase on the frequency, thats equally important too re "conditioning".

I'm not sure what time I'm aiming for the Martinborough fun ride, but I think realistically its going to take me over 2.5 hours.

I think I used my gears more effectively.  I couldn't tell you what number combinations, but I was able to take the "hills" better.  Although the memory trigger of falling off the hill last week was triggered a couple of times.   A key thing for the hills is not only the right gear, but the pedal thing re keeping the cadence going.  I think I'm improving re that too.

Seven weeks to go.
