What makes me happy?

This makes me happy!  Today, in celebration of the 100RPM milestone, albeit belatedly, I purchased some real bike shoes with cleats.  They are not the flashest most expensive bike shoes - but they are a good entry pair.    Next steps will be a) to wear them and b) to get proper pedals on my bike.  I'll probably start with RPM before the road thing.  I might need some assistance from a *friendly* RPM instructor re how you actually click into the pedals on the RPM bike.  Although I'm sure its not that hard?


Oh, and paua fritters make me very happy too.  Hopefully, there will be some of those this weekend:-)

    Ooh, exciting, great reward for yourself! You'll need SPD cleats for RPM, so maybe you'll be using the same for your bike too? I use Look cleats but thats cos they are on my bike and also I can use them in RPM - but I use my mountain bike shoes with SPDs when participating. Hope that makes sense. Jetlagged. Let me know if you need me to explain a bit more!

    Yep. v. exciting! I almost slept in them last Friday (almost...!) I had a conversation with the "bike boy" much like your comments re the interchange thing with the road bike - and to be honest I am not completely sure what to do re my bike - maybe get another pair to fit!!! - although that's not really on the budget at the moment. He fitted cleats for RPM (so I assume they are SPD), but I don't think they will work with my bike - although I'm going to need to get "new" bike pedals "fitted" in any case. So, if your jetlagged, then you must be "home"? Yay~! - back in time for the week of the new release! It's v.cool.
